The dispatch calendar
Drag-and-drop dispatching across days and techs, and what each drop actually does behind the scenes.
Updated September 11, 2026
The Calendar view on the Routes page is the dispatcher's board. List view answers "what is today", Map view answers "where is today", Calendar answers "who does what, when, this week".
Week view
Seven day columns. Drag a stop from one day to another and it moves, keeping its tech. Use it for "the Hendersons asked to move Thursday's clean to Friday" without touching anything else about either day.
Day view
One lane per team member, plus a Due tray of pools that are due but unassigned. Two drags matter here:
- Stop to another lane: reassigns that visit to a different tech, today.
- Due pool onto a lane: creates the visit and assigns it in one motion.
Rules the board enforces
- Only pending stops drag. A stop that is in progress, completed, or skipped renders locked; you cannot dispatch the past.
- You cannot drop onto a completed route.
- The same pool cannot get two stops on one day; the board blocks the duplicate.
What a drag changes elsewhere
- Both the source and target days are marked manually adjusted, so the nightly planner will not rebuild them. Your board is authoritative once you touch it.
- The affected techs get a push notification that their route changed, unless you are the tech in question.
- Arrival estimates on a hand-arranged day are not recomputed the way a full optimization pass would; if you rearranged half the day, the ETAs are only as good as your ordering.
On a phone or tablet
Press and hold to drag, or use each card's Move menu to pick a day and tech from dropdowns; same effect, more precision on small screens.
A dispatcher's rhythm that works
Morning: List view for today's reality. Midday: Day view to absorb surprises (callouts, a tech out sick: drag their remaining stops onto other lanes). Friday: Week view for next week's shape, then let the nightly planner fill in the days you did not touch.
