Short answers, with links where a full guide exists.
Do my customers need to create accounts? No. Customers never log in. They get secure private links: their pool report page, quote approvals, invoices. Click and view, nothing to remember.
Can I undo a route change? No, honestly. There is no undo for optimization or edits. That is why days you touch are locked against the nightly planner, and why moving one stop on the calendar beats re-optimizing a whole day.
Why didn't my customer get the text? In order of likelihood: no text consent on their record, no valid mobile number, it fell back to email (check there), outside your business hours (it queues politely), they replied STOP at some point, or the monthly text allotment ran out. The Notifications page shows every message and its delivery status.
Why does the invoice show less than the quote total? Deposits and installment payments already collected are netted out. The invoice always shows the true remaining balance; the payment history on the quote shows where the rest went.
Do texts cost extra? Each plan includes a monthly allotment that resets every month; top-up packs cover heavy months and unused pack credits roll over. Email is unlimited and free.
Can my techs see my whole customer list? No. Techs see their own routes and the pools they service, period. No billing, no exports, no other techs' days.
Can two techs share one login? No; signing in on a second device signs out the first. Each person gets their own seat, which also keeps visits, badges, and timesheets attributed correctly.
What happens if I stop paying? A failed payment starts a 30 day grace period, not a shutoff. If the plan truly ends, you land on Free: data intact, everything exportable, pools beyond the Free cap archived (not deleted) until a plan fits them again.
Where did an old service photo go? Routine visit media ages out (service photos after about a year, videos sooner). Anything saved to the pool's gallery is permanent. The habit: tap Save to pool on photos worth keeping forever.
Does PoolChecker store my customers' card numbers? No. Cards live in Stripe's vault; PoolChecker keeps only the last four digits for display.
I'm coming from Skimmer or Pool Brain. How painful is the move? An afternoon, mostly. Export their CSV, run the import wizard, tap Locate All, review your first optimized route. Schedules, equipment, and last-service dates can ride along in the same file.
