Automated review requests

Turn happy customers into Google reviews on autopilot, with guardrails that keep it classy.

Reviews are the highest-leverage marketing a local service company has, and the moment to ask is right after a good visit. The Reviews page automates exactly that.

How it works

  1. On the Reviews page settings, paste your review link (your Google Business profile link is the usual choice), pick text or email, and choose the trigger: after the customer's 1st, 2nd, or 3rd completed visit, with an optional delay of a few hours.
  2. When a customer crosses that visit count, the request sends itself: a short branded message with your review link.
  3. The Reviews page tracks every request: sent, clicked, and the analytics rollup (send volume, click rate, opt-out rate).

The guardrails

  • One request per customer, ever. Nobody gets nagged quarterly for a review; the ask happens once, at the moment you chose.
  • Every request carries an opt-out link. Opting out is instant and permanent (you can re-enable it on the customer's page if they ask you to).
  • New prospects never get asked; only real, active customers with completed visits.
  • Text requests follow all the normal consent rules, and fall back to email like everything else.

Choosing the trigger wisely

Asking after the second or third visit usually beats the first: the customer has seen consistency, not just a first impression, and your click rate will show it. The first-visit ask makes sense mainly for one-time jobs like a green-pool cleanup, where visit one is the whole relationship.

When a request fails

A failed send (bad phone, bounced email) shows as Failed in the request list with a Retry button, which re-checks everything (opt-out, contact info, consent) before trying again. That is the one manual touch the pipeline ever needs.

The compounding trick

Pair this with the service report: a customer who just received a tidy report with before-and-after photos, then gets a review ask a couple of hours later, writes the review with the evidence still on their phone. The two features together are the review machine.
